Rosebriar House

Linda’s own residence in Sydney’s Hunters Hill is a small cottage transformed. Celebrating the original sandstone form, the reworking of the existing structure and expansive addition brings this historic home into the modern-day in a truly sympathetic way. A restrained but texturally exciting use of stone, timber and marble and a classic palette featuring pops of jewel-like colour strike the perfect balance of elegance and energy. LHD worked closely and collaboratively with Campbell Architecture to preserve the charm and character of the old while introducing the drama and beauty of the new. Nestled into the hillside, this character-filled villa is a celebration of site, natural light and vista and the bringing together of family.

I feel like I was called to enhance the beauty of this cottage. It was so important to me that we preserved the way the original home felt and didn’t lose its essence with the new addition
