LHD is tasked with breathing new life and guiding the restoration of a significant heritage property in the historic suburb of Hunters Hill. ‘Cambridge’ is a large architectural stone villa with a history closely linked with the formation of the suburb and is one of the many preserved sandstone homes in the area. LHD is working hand in hand with the client to reconfigure the floorplans of the upper and lower levels to accommodate improved flow for their large family. In addition, careful consideration is taken to balance the inherent grandeur of the home and the requirements of daily family life. A palette of soft whites, restored antique floors, Carrara marbles, beautifully hand painted joinery with accents of aged brass are the foundation of this ever evolving restoration project.
